U.N. Reports Mounting Toll Among Aid Seekers as U.S. Envoy Due in Gaza
GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE, JUL 31 – The United Nations reports 1,373 Palestinians were killed while waiting for humanitarian aid at US-run distribution sites amid an ongoing blockade and military offensive.
- GAZA CITY- Israeli forces killed hundreds of Palestinians waiting for aid outside US-backed sites, the UN rights office reported on Aug 1.
- Amid the blockade, at least 155 Palestinians have died due to starvation as Israeli forces destroyed Gaza’s infrastructure, creating a humanitarian crisis.
- Over the past two days, 105 Palestinians were killed and at least 680 injured along convoy routes near GHF sites, as Israeli bombardment killed at least 111 Palestinians, including 91 aid seekers, in the past 24 hours.
- France said the US- and Israel-backed aid distribution system in Gaza had generated a 'bloodbath' and must cease activity, urging independent investigations into each killing.
- The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant on charges related to starvation as a weapon of war, according to human rights advocates.
