US restricting visas for Sinaloa Cartel family members, business associates
The restrictions cover 75 people tied to the cartel and aim to disrupt the support networks that sustain fentanyl trafficking, officials said.

- The Trump Administration designated the Sinaloa Cartel a Foreign Terrorist Organization, citing its role in smuggling illicit fentanyl which the President designated as a Weapon of Mass Destruction.
- Drug Enforcement Agency officials arrested 600 people linked to the cartel the month before the sanctions, seizing 420 firearms, nearly $13 million in assets, and 714,707 counterfeit pills.
- Rubio said the restrictions will "prevent their entry into our nation, but also serve as a deterrent to continued illicit activities," rendering affected individuals ineligible for United States entry.
