- On July 22, the Henley Passport Index 2025 unveiled a mid-year update, showing India’s climb from 85th to 77th, while the UK and US dropped to sixth and tenth.
- Amid this landscape, India’s diplomatic outreach focused on expanding visa-free agreements, notably in South America and the Gulf, reflecting a wider trend of emerging nations overtaking traditional powers.
- Meanwhile, China advanced 34 places from 94th to 60th despite no Schengen Area access, while Saudi Arabia added four destinations since January to reach 91.
