Volunteers gearing up for sea turtle nesting season on Topsail Island

TOPSAIL ISLAND, N.C. (WNCT) -- With sea turtle nesting season approaching May 1, 2025, the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital is preparing for it. Loggerhead turtles are the main type of sea turtles to nest in North Carolina. Starting May 1, volunteers will begin to survey all 26 miles of Topsail Island to look for sea turtle tracks.
