Greenville, North Carolina · GreenvilleOfficials say 36-year-old Tavon Dorsett Morton was being held at the Greenwood County Detention Center after having his bond was revoked in January 2023. An argument between the officer and Morton began, and without being provoked, Morton struck the officer in the head multiple times before slamming him head-first onto the tile floor. Morton pleaded guilty and was sentenced on Wednesday to a maximum of 20 years in prison for the assault on the detention officer.See the Story
