Scientists from Royal Holloway University in Egham are among those who won the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics.
It was awarded to the ATLAS Collaboration, co-founded by Royal Holloway’s Department of Physics, at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. The prize recognised significant contributions to particle physics, including work on the Higgs boson and rare particle processes. Royal Holloway’s ATLAS team will now prepare for its next chapter, leading development of software for the High-Luminosity LHC.
