United Center Becomes First Major US Arena to Sell THC Beverages
The United Center will sell 5 mg hemp-derived THC drinks at concerts for adults 21+, marking a shift as 14% of U.S. adults used THC products in early 2025, study shows.
Chicago's United Center is the first major U.S. arena to offer cannabis drinks for adults 21 and older at its concessions, serving as a test case for cannabis in mainstream venues.
The drinks will be available during concerts at the venue starting in early February, containing 5 milligrams of THC, a moderate dose similar to a glass of beer or wine.
While Congress passed a bill capping THC levels and effectively banning most hemp-derived THC products starting in November, it remains unclear how federal officials will enforce the new prohibitions.
