Ukraine parliament votes to restore anti-corruption agencies after protests
KYIV, UKRAINE, JUL 31 – Ukrainian lawmakers reversed a controversial law after mass protests and EU warnings, restoring the independence of anti-corruption agencies with a unanimous 331-0 vote.
- On July 31, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada approved Zelenskyy’s bill with 331 votes and nine abstentions, reversing last week’s anti-corruption rollback.
- Following the July 22 vote, Zelensky signed a law that prompted Ukrainians, the EU, and rights groups to protest extensively.
