Two avalanches kill 2 in Alberta back-country
- Two separate avalanches in Alberta led to the deaths of two individuals on March 14, according to Avalanche Canada.
- In one incident near the Black Prince backcountry ski area, a skier triggered a 100-metre wide avalanche and did not survive despite rescue efforts.
- In another incident at Pipestone Bowl, a skier triggered an avalanche, got buried 150 to 200 centimetres deep, and also did not survive.
- The other skiers involved in both incidents called for help and attempted rescue efforts.
