Trump likely to skip out on his own arraignment in Georgia: report

  • Former President Donald Trump is considering waiving his arraignment appearance in Fulton County, Georgia, and having his lawyer enter a not guilty plea on his behalf. This follows the example of other defendants in the case, like Sidney Powell and Trevian Kutti.
  • Mr. Trump is charged with 13 felony counts related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. He has denied any wrongdoing and surrendered last week at the Fulton County jail. Additionally, he is facing criminal charges in Manhattan, Miami, and the District of Columbia.
  • In the other cases, Mr. Trump appeared in person for his arraignments and pleaded not guilty. The charges in these cases include alleged hush money payments, possession and handling of classified documents, and efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
