- On Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, President Donald Trump confirmed Russian President Vladimir Putin was invited to join the U.S.-led Gaza Board of Peace to implement the U.S.-brokered 20-point peace plan.
- The plan's second phase will focus on disarming Hamas, rebuilding the Gaza Strip destroyed after Oct. 7, 2023, and establishing a Palestinian experts group under U.S. supervision.
- Membership rules specify that a founding Executive Board lists Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Tony Blair, Marc Rowan, Ajay Banja, with Canada invited but not paying for a permanent seat.
- Responding in Jerusalem, Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the Board of Peace was uncoordinated and instructed the Foreign Affairs Minister to contact the U.S. Secretary of State.
- Ahead of Davos, U.S. officials say the U.S. will announce its membership list during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where the initiative's roster will be publicized.
