- The Indiana State Police reported the truck flipped on its side, blocking all lanes, and the driver was cited for driving too fast, apparently due to taking the curve too quickly in the 80,000-pound vehicle.
- One cow died in the crash and another was euthanized because of injuries, while a farm spokesperson stated three calves were injured, and two of them subsequently died.
- According to Indiana State Police Sgt., warning signs advising trucks to slow down are posted on the ramp, where a significant number of crashes have occurred over the years, and "There's a large amount of fluid from the truck that leaked out onto the roadways."
- Crews spent several hours clearing the crash, and all lanes on the ramp and I-65 reopened Friday afternoon, with most of the cattle returned to Fair Oaks Farm.
