A truck fire on Monday evening completely closed Prague's Southern Link in both directions. Six fire brigade units are responding to the scene.
Prague - Traffic police closed the busy Jižní spojka in Prague in the direction of Barrandovský most shortly after 8:00 p.m. today. Police spokeswoman Eva Kropáčová told ČTK. The reason for the closure, which is expected to last several hours, is the removal of a truck that crashed into the barriers and caught fire at the intersection with Průmyslová Street on Monday evening. The police advised drivers to avoid the busy road.
Why the truck caught fire in a sand pit is still unclear. To extinguish the fire department worked together cross-border.
The southern link road will be closed towards the Barrandov Bridge from 8:00 p.m. due to the removal of the burnt truck and decontamination of the soil. Police advise avoiding the area in the evening.

Traffic was restricted there after a truck fire on Monday. After 9 a.m., the police expanded traffic to two lanes. The truck will not be removed until the evening, and Jižní spojka will be temporarily closed again during the towing.
