- Prosecutors say the defendants routed files through third‑party communications channels bearing their first names, copied material to personal and work devices, and concealed evidence with false signed affidavits and destroyed files.
- Federal prosecutors charged the trio with conspiracy, theft of trade secrets, and obstruction of justice, facing penalties of 10 years, 20 years, and $250,000 fines per count, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California said.
- Google detected the activity through routine monitoring, revoked access in August 2023, and prosecutors say devices accessed sensitive files in Iran in December 2023, posing national security and economic risk.
