Three men charged with raping woman at Brighton beach
- At about 05:00 BST, officers were called to the Lower Esplanade after Sussex Police received a report that a woman was raped on Brighton lower esplanade at about 5am on October 4.
- Detective Superintendent Andy Harbour said: `This has been a fast-paced investigation with all three suspects having been identified through thorough investigative work.`
- Three men have been charged over the alleged rape: Abdulla Ahmadi, 25, an Iranian national from Crewe; Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, and Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, Egyptian nationals from Horsham, each facing two counts of rape.
- They have been remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates' Court on Thursday , and police are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
- Specialist officers are supporting the 33-year-old victim as the investigation continues, and Sussex Police urged anyone with information to contact them online or via 101, quoting Operation Brampton.
