Thousands rally across Quebec to defend public electricity services - People's Voice

Quebec finally passed on to all taxpayers the increase in the electricity tariffs of residential consumers decreed at the beginning of the month by the Régie de l'énergie.

The Legault government blocked the expected increase in the residential electricity tariff to 3%. The Council of Ministers passed a decree to that effect on Wednesday, while the Régie de l'énergie had decided for a 3.6% increase. However, Prime Minister François Legault had indicated that he was opposed to the Régie's proposal.
