For the first time, the European Union imposed sanctions against German citizens — journalist Alina Lipp and writer Thomas Rapper were included in the 17th package of restrictions against Russia. The reaction of the "distributors of Russian propaganda" carrying out "destabilizing activities" is cited by the Berliner Zeitung newspaper.
The EU accuses Alina Lipp and Thomas Röper of spreading misinformation about the war of aggression against Ukraine. Their names are also mentioned in the new package of sanctions against Russia.


With tough measures, the EU is responding to systematic Russian propaganda against Germany. Two Kremlin-faithful media activists who emigrated to Russia are now at the center of the sanctions.
