Man Arrested in Thessaloniki for Six Years of Alleged Electricity Theft

A 32-year-old man in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, was arrested for allegedly stealing electricity over a six-year period by illegally reconnecting power to his apartment, police said.

Police officers from the "Z" Group, in the early hours of yesterday (04-11-2025) in Kordelio, arrested a 32-year-old man for electricity theft. As determined by an inspection by a DEDDIE electrical engineer, the young man, as of 02-12-2019, proceeded to an arbitrary reconnection to the electricity supply of his apartment, with a calculated energy leak, the value of which amounts to 27,000 euros.
