Lisbon, 13 Oct (EFE).- The Sunday municipal elections in Portugal, where one of the government's partners, the Social Democratic Party (PSD, center-right), of Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, was the winner of the day, "validate" the executive's strategy, five months after the legislative ones, and confirm that the far-right Chega has a hard time winning without his leader, André Ventura.
The right-wing Portuguese Prime Minister's party, Luis Montenegro, won the municipal elections on Sunday, 12 October, winning notably the cities of Lisbon and Porto (northern), while the far right won the first three town halls in its history, according to the results published this Monday.
The PSD had a good victory, the PS was a tolerable defeat. But the most interesting of yesterday's elections was to check the centrality of the candidates, which caught up with the arrival and shattered the fall of the PCP.
