Residents and visitors to Westdorpe, in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, experienced the first day of summer this year on Saturday. Weeronline reports that the temperature there rose to 25 degrees at the end of the afternoon. “This makes it the first local summer day of the year,” says the weather site. There are no records, but it is “on the early side” for summer temperatures. On average, the first local summer day falls on May 3.
