The European Parliament passed a human rights resolution yesterday (22nd) strongly condemning the Hong Kong authorities' prosecution and conviction of Jimmy Lai, founder of Next Media and a British citizen, and demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Lai and all those detained for exercising fundamental freedoms. This resolution is one of three human rights resolutions passed by the European Parliament that day.
