The summer is coming very soon and your trip abroad is getting closer. But there is a problem ahead of you: your passport has not yet arrived. 56,000 people are waiting for their new identity papers in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, while requests continue to arrive in waves with the town halls.

The measure seeks to decentralize tasks and speed up the bureaucratic procedures of the National Directorate of Migration, with the aim of enabling children and adolescents to "travel alone, to any country in the world".

As of 2 June, the National Registry of Persons (RENAPER) will begin to manage in its offices the authorization to allow children under 18 years of age to travel abroad. From that date, both parents, or only one parent in the event of death or single subsidiary link, will be able to make the application for authorization to Renaper in person, in any Service Centre, Sectional or Consular Office enabled. This new procedure will allow, in the first stage, to authorize travel on passports already issued. In a second stage, the possibility of jointly processing the passport and authorization will be enabled.
