The Fraudulent UN Resolution 2758 and the Courage to Recognize Taiwan

Few documents in modern diplomatic history have sown more confusion, distortion and injustice than United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758. Passed in the shadow of the Cold War on Oct. 25, 1971, the resolution was ostensibly designed to answer a straightforward question: Who should represent “China” at the United Nations?

On the 27th, the Illinois House of Representatives passed Pro-Taiwan Resolution No. 0108, reaffirming its support for the Taiwan Relations Act and supporting Illinois companies to refer to Taiwan as Taiwan; the resolution opposed any distortion or abuse of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, attempting to deny Taiwan's desire to make more contributions to the international community.
