Report: iOS 27 to Focus on New Features for Upcoming iPhone Fold

After more than seven years of folding devices, Apple will launch the iPhone Fold, expected in 2026, entering a market dominated by Samsung and Chinese brands.
Last week, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported it solved the display crease problem, and Apple refined its foldable hardware and software to address design challenges.
Industry reports suggest the foldable iPhone will feature a crease-free display, and a stainless steel and titanium alloy hinge.
Analysts said the foldable iPhone will be a “slam dunk” against the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, urging Samsung to intensify Fold 8 development.
In preparation for foldable devices, iOS 27 development will incorporate dual-screen software enhancements, with Apple planning to introduce a new multitasking interface, Gurman reports.
