Sergei Polunin, a highly regarded ballet dancer and public supporter of the Putin regime, is one of six new individuals targeted by the EU Council, bringing the total number of individuals and entities sanctioned by the EU to 65.
According to the EU statement, all six of the sanctioned individuals are actively contributing to the war against Ukraine, for example by organizing fundraising for the Russian armed forces.
Dmitry Guberniev, Pavel Zarubin, Roman Chumakov and Sergey Polunin were also sanctioned.
