Five islands have been given a wildfire warning. The Canary Islands have been given a wildfire warning. The warning issued on Sunday applies to the islands of Tenerife, El Hiero, La Palma, La Gomera and Gran Canaria, local media outlet Canarian Weekly reports. The risk of wildfires is currently being increased by reduced rainfall, warmer weather and the movement of dry, dusty air from the Sahara to the Canary Islands.
