Géza Jeszenszky is grateful to the authorities for being able to catch his brutal attacker: he told our newspaper from his hospital bed that if it hadn't happened, he and his wife would still be living in fear. According to the foreign minister of the governments led by József Antall (1990–1993) and Péter Boros (1993–1994), the man had a clear intention to kill him.

The court has decided the fate of Géza Jeszenszky's attacker - The defense has filed an appeal.
