Scarlet Witch Will Skip Both ‘Avengers’ Movies, A Disney Disaster
- Elizabeth Olsen, who debuted as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the MCU in 2014, confirmed she will not appear in the upcoming Avengers movies, titled Doomsday and Secret Wars, which are gearing up to shoot in London soon.
- Olsen's decision comes after portraying Wanda/Scarlet Witch in six MCU movies and three Disney+ series, leading her to seek projects outside of Marvel to reflect her own taste.
- Prior to this announcement, Olsen had been in London filming Sam Esmail's Panic Carefully and has returned to the U.S. To film the pilot for the FX series Seven Sisters.
- Olsen told The Hollywood Reporter, "because Marvel and its influence takes up so much physical time and space in the world, its really important for me to make choices outside of Marvel that reflect my own taste."
- While some reports suggest Robert Downey Jr. May return to the MCU, Olsen's absence marks a shift, as she was last seen sacrificing herself in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, released in 2022.
