- The event timeline and new eligibility rules were set after submissions open August 1 for film and television and October 1 for podcasts, with all entries due by October 31, 2025.
- For the first time, a Best Podcast Award will be presented, with eligibility requiring at least six episodes of 30 minutes minimum released between January 1 and September 30, 2025.
- Nominations will be announced on December 8, 2025, and final ballots must be received by January 3, 2026, with key deadlines throughout November and December for voting and press conferences.
- The Golden Globes will continue to serve as the awards season kickoff before the Academy Awards on March 15, 2026, with increased recognition of new media through podcast inclusion.
