Teen swimming pool death in North Augusta under investigation

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) - The Aiken County Coroner's Office is investigating the death of a teenager. Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to a home on the 200 block of Yaun Road in North Augusta. They found 18-year-old Malakai Jarrett submerged in the family swimming pool. Attempts were made to revive the teen but those efforts were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
