The Superior Court of Justice (STJ) reclassified as femicide the crime of Antonella Rocío Bernhardt (27), a young Oberian who was beaten and murdered at one point in her department of El Brete neighborhood in 2019, and sentenced to life imprisonment photographer Cristian Daniel Vargas (35), who in the first instance had received 20 years in prison as a simple murderer following an oral trial before the One of Posadas Criminal Court.

He shot his ex-partner first, then himself: the alleged femicide in Osnabrück was preceded by a "considerable legal dispute", according to prosecutor Alexander Retemeyer.
