In a statement regarding Rojin Kabaiş, the Forensic Medicine Institute said, “In light of the available findings, the Forensic Medicine Institute reported that Rojin Kabaiş’s death occurred as a result of drowning; however, no definitive conclusion could be reached regarding how the incident occurred (suicide, accident or external factors).”

DNA from two separate men was detected on Rojin Kabaiş's chest and inner vagina. The Diyarbakır and Van bar associations have filed criminal complaints against ATK; the family is demanding that the perpetrators of the murder be found.
