GENEVA: The United Nations’ rights chief Volker Turk said on Friday that escalating fighting in Sudan’s west and center risks aggravating harm to civilians and abuses, more than two years into the country’s war.

Geneva: The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, warned Friday of the grave consequences of the continuing and escalating hostilities in central and western Sudan, referring to violent attacks that had resulted in civilian casualties.
