Sudan: After the Landslide in Darfur, Still Difficult to Assess

In the Sudan, five days after a major mudfall on a village in Darfur, the human balance remains uncertain. According to a local authority, 270 bodies were found. The collapse occurred on Sunday 31 August in a very isolated area of the Jebel Marra mountains, on the border between Central and Northern Darfur, in the western part of the country.
