- Supervising faculty and staff reported the non-school-sponsored, student-led demonstration began around 2:00 p.m., and at one point a few students entered the street where the vehicle that stopped in front of the crowd then struck a student.
- Video captured by News Channel Nebraska and KETV shows a red SUV with a Trump flag passing the protest, with the driver exiting to exchange words, then revving the engine and driving forward.
- Officials opened an investigation and asked for public tips; the Fremont Police Department located the driver as a juvenile and urged witnesses to text 'Tip FremontPD' to 888-777 or call 510-790-6760.
- Elected officials urged protection of peaceful assembly and called for accountability as Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen and U.S. Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb., Rep. Don Bacon and U.S. Rep. Mike Flood, R-Neb., expressed prayers while students continued the protest.
