A bronze statue of comedian Paul van Vliet has been unveiled in The Hague. Van Vliet was born in The Hague and died in 2023 at the age of 87. The money for the statue was raised through crowdfunding. The Hague residents attended in large numbers on Wednesday for the unveiling of the statue of renowned comedian Paul van Vliet, who died two years ago at the age of 87, at the Nieuwe Uitleg in The Hague. His widow, Lidewij de Jongh, considers it a "beautiful tribute" to her partner. "But it's also bizarre; the statue looks exactly like him."
