State unemployment stays at 4.1% in May while area rates increase
For the fifth consecutive month, the statewide seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate registered at 4.1 percent in May, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. Fayette and all eight surrounding counties saw their rates (not seasonally adjusted) increase from April, ranging from 0.6 percent (Gonzales County) to 0.1 percent (Colorado County).
