RIBNICA - Two attackers beat the mayor of Ribnica in Slovenia, Sem Pogorelec, who appealed to the state leadership, the prosecutor's office and the competent ministry to take urgent measures to prevent violence.
At a firefighter's party on Saturday, two men physically attacked Ribnica Mayor Sam Pogorelec, injuring a policewoman. They then injured another citizen in the company of a third attacker.
Police arrested a 25-year-old, an 18-year-old, and a minor suspect who live in the Kočevje area.

"My family and I feel threatened," the mayor admitted after the incident, while firefighters said that parents no longer allow young people to attend such events due to the danger. Another citizen and a policewoman who intervened were injured.
The 25-year-old and 18-year-old suspects, as well as one minor, who reside in the Kočevje area, were arrested.
