SRPD Officer Honored By The Rotary of Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa Police Officer Matt Rooney was recently honored by the Rotary of Santa Rosa for his heroic de-escalation of a crisis. Officer Rooney successfully diffused a dangerous situation involving a juvenile with autism armed with a knife. Using his expertise, he calmly communicated with the teen, safely evacuating others from the home, and eventually convincing the individual to disarm and seek help.
