- Separately, the Rajya Sabha passed the Supreme Court Amendment Bill, increasing the sanctioned strength of Supreme Court judges from 34 to 38, replacing an ordinance from May 2026.
- Biju Janata Dal MP Sasmit Patra urged the Centre to strengthen judicial infrastructure, recalling that Chief Justice of India Justice Chandrachud outlined the need for "27 additional courtrooms, 51 judges.
