Spain airport strikes may disrupt Easter travel; passengers advised to expect delays
Over 3,000 staff at 12 airports strike over pay and conditions, causing delays and cancellations during Spain's busy Easter travel period, unions said.
- Airport strikes are set to begin in Spain involving partial stoppages on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for an indefinite period.
- The strikes will affect a dozen airports, with Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga, Alicante and routes to the Canary Islands being particularly sensitive.
- Unions say the action is rooted in disputes over rights and working conditions for staff, including pay and sector-wide labour agreements.
