UNITED STATES, AUG 11 – Shrek 5's release is postponed to mid-2027 to avoid competing with major holiday films including Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part III, Universal said.
- On June 30, 2027, Universal Pictures is moving DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek 5 from Dec. 23, 2026, marking its second delay since its initial July 1, 2026 schedule.
- The original Dec. 18, 2026, release of Shrek 5 was moved to avoid Avengers: Doomsday, Dune: Part III and Ice Age 6 in the holiday corridor.
