Shilpa Shetty’s Mumbai restaurant Bastian Bandra to shut down, announces special farewell night
Bastian Bandra, co-owned by Shilpa Shetty and Ranjit Bindra, closes after nine years amid ongoing Rs 60.4 crore fraud investigation; sister outlet in Dadar West remains open.
On Thursday, Shilpa Shetty announced on Instagram that Bastian Bandra on Linking Road, Bandra West, Mumbai will close with a final gathering marking its last day.
The Economic Offences Wing registered a case after Deepak Kothari accused Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra of cheating Rs 60.4 crore invested between 2015 and 2023 in Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, alleging fund diversion to personal expenses.
Founded in 2016, Bastian later reopened in Bandra in 2023, hosting a farewell evening for loyal patrons before transforming into Ammakai from mid‑October, while expanding with the Juhu project and Bastian Beach Club.
Despite the closure, the Thursday ritual Arcane Affair will continue next week at Bastian At The Top, Dadar West, preserving the experience at the chain's other outlet.
Their lawyer said Prashant Patil denied criminality, called it civil, and noted NCLT Mumbai adjudicated the matter on October 4, 2024, with auditors providing detailed records to the EOW.
