The prestigious British University of Cambridge has awarded an honorary doctorate to Angela Davis, a Marxist activist and currently a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz. However, the award has also sparked negative reactions, as Davis has been actively involved in Soviet communist propaganda in the past and, during her visit to socialist Czechoslovakia in 1972, refused to support political prisoners there.
