Sextortion Gang Busted in Delhi: Kingpin and Three Others Arrested
DELHI, INDIA, JUL 18 – Delhi Police Cyber Cell arrested four accused including the kingpin for extorting Rs 35,000 from victims using fake dating app profiles and secret recordings, police said.
- Police arrested Armaan Khan and three accomplices on July 18, 2025, in Delhi and Mewat for running a sextortion racket.
- The racket used fake dating app profiles and obscene video calls to blackmail a victim into paying Rs 35,000 to avoid social media exposure.
- Armaan Khan, the 21-year-old kingpin, used multiple phones and fake identities to record victims secretly, while associates handled extortion payments.
- The victim transferred Rs 35,000 to a bank account linked to Mangal Singh, and police recovered a payment scanner allegedly supplied by Aasid Khan to receive funds.
- Following a complaint filed through the official cyber crime grievance platform, authorities successfully broke up the syndicate, highlighting growing vigilance against cyber extortion activities.
