MONTREAL REGION, QUEBEC, JUL 13 – Over 35,000 Hydro-Quebec customers lost power due to heavy rain, lightning, and flash flooding affecting homes, businesses, and major highways, officials reported.
- A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for southern Quebec due to strong thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
- Over 50mm of rain has been recorded in locations like Ile Perrot, causing flash flooding and road closures in Montreal.
- More than 35,000 Hydro-Quebec customers are without power, with many affected in Montreal and the Montérégie.
- The warm and humid air mass is expected to remain for the week, with daily risks of showers and thunderstorms.
