Man found dead in Ontario lake, as police warn of dangerous weekend on the water

A man in his early 20s is dead after a boating incident on Weslemkoon Lake in the Township of Addington Highlands, Ont., as provincial police warn of a "large number of marine incidents" over the weekend.

At about 7:45 a.m. Saturday, the Lennox and Addington County OPP detachment received a call that a passenger in a boat had fallen overboard and had not resurfaced.

There is a heavy police presence on the north end of Weslemkoon Lake east of Bancroft this morning (Saturday July 12). OPP and its marine and dive units are searching for someone who fell into the water from a capsized boat before 8 a.m. Other people were involved but reports indicate they were safe.
