I lived in Satya Niketan as a student. The building collapse is a tragedy, not a surprise
I wonder what this tragedy would mean for students who come after me. What it would mean for the students currently residing in that neighbourhood. How do you resume everyday life knowing that the very roof above your head — your supposed home away from home — can collapse any moment?
After the building collapsed in Delhi's Satya Niketan, there is an atmosphere of fear among students living in nearby PGs. Many students are leaving PG and returning home. Some are going to Lucknow and others to Rajasthan and Chandigarh. Some students are staying in Venkateswara, Motilal and Aryabhata colleges. Students say that after the accident, families are constantly calling them home.
