Countries on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea, including Estonia, may face more frequent floods in the future. According to scientists, one of the most at risk areas is the Pärnu region, where the combination of suitable winds and high water levels could cause extensive flooding.

Many in Europe doubt that a lasting ceasefire in Ukraine will be achieved anytime soon.

The Baltic States are concerned that a possible ceasefire in Ukraine will dramatically increase the security threat for them, as it will give Moscow time to rearm and redeploy troops, writes the Financial Times.

“I joined the Air Force 35 years ago when I was 18 and went straight to Germany to fly Tornado aircraft,” says Andy Turk, Deputy Commander of the Long-Range Detection Force. “It was at the end of the Cold War, and our role involved nuclear weapons.”
