Aleksandras Brokas says he himself offered to be the vice minister of culture to the prime minister's team. There has been speculation in society that the politician was delegated to this position by "Nemunas Aušra". The cultural community opposes the latter's presence in the Ministry of Culture. "I communicated with the prime minister's team and proposed my candidacy," the vice minister told LRT on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė says that while other positions of deputy ministers of culture are assigned to parties in the ruling coalition, Aleksandras Brokas is an independent deputy minister with ties to the cultural community. At the time, A. Brokas says that he himself offered to be the deputy minister of culture to the Prime Minister's team.
